Testing Checkout Customizations

It's not always easy to know if a customization will work as expected. That's why we've built a testing feature into Checkout Logic. You can use it to test your customizations before you activate them.

Step 1: Create a Customization

Before you can test a customization, you'll need to create one. When editing the customization, head over to the section titled 'Add condition' and define the conditions for your customization. You can specify conditions based on the products in the customer's cart, the total price, and more. Read the general guide on building customization.

Step 2: Set the Rule Status to 'Testing'

Once you've created your rule, you'll need to set the status to 'Testing'. This will add a hidden condition with AND logic: Email = 'test@testing.com'. This condition will ensure that the customization only applies to checkouts where the customer's email address is 'test@testing.com' AND the other conditions are met. Note: 'test@testing.com' is case sensitive, meaning 'testing' will not work.

Note: If your customization has conditions on the account, you cannot use the normal testing email. Simply add a new condition to check if the email is the one you have specified and will be testing with.

Step 3: Test Your Rule

Now that you've created your customization and set the status to 'Testing', you're ready to test it. To do so, you'll need to create a test checkout. You can do this by adding a product to your cart and heading to the checkout page. When you get to the checkout page, enter 'test@testing.com' as your email address. This will trigger the customization to apply if you are using that email.
